Memorial Museum of Konstantinas Šakenis, a Political and Public Figure in Lithuania During the Interwar Period
Opened on 6 July 2000, the museum offers a permanent collection of documents and photographs reflecting the history of the Šakenis family.
The exhibition is open to visitors from 1st May to 1st October.
Konstantinas Šakenis (1881 - 1959) - was an engineer, a pedagogue, a publicist, the Lithuanian minister of education, a state inspector and chairman of the Lithuanian Parliament - Seimas. Šakenis also wrote two scientific books on the history of Lithuania, and the first physics textbook in the Lithuanian language for the secondary school.
