Rinkuškiai (Juodeliai) Mound Called the Devil's Hill

In the village of Juodeliai, a mound less than 10 m high catches the eye. It is called Devil's Hill (Velniakalnis) or Devil's Castle (Velniapilis). One of its slopes is next to Apaščia river, the other - is surrounded by many little ponds. It is believed it have been used as a military mound post to protect the Vilnius-Riga road in Middle Ages. There are many wooden devil sculptures in the park near the mound.
